Craft Beer Corner by Jim Flash Gordon

NO big marketing budgets, NO Rocky Mountains or NO Santa Claus driving a 40ft juggernaut through the snow. Just great beers, with cheeky names, irreverent descriptions, something to talk about in the bar (besides sport) Try these descriptions by the brewer to see what I mean.

Overall IIPA is – as the name denotes – an Imperial India Pale Ale created in close collaboration between To Øl and our good friends from Mikkeller. The mission was to create a homage to the American beerculture, where beers needs to have flavour, taste and style, contrary to the urine-colored pseudo beer that we often drink in Denmark! By first draught Overall IIPA has a slightly caramelized malt profile, which gives you time to rest before your tastebuds are bombarded by a plethora of hop sensations, giving you hints of pines, citrus and grape. These are just barely harnessed by the sweetness of the alcohol. You suddenly realize that Overall IIPA is “overall” in your mouth and that drinking is living. For a short while you forget your tax-payments, work and the dishes. You relax and your shoulders drop down a couple of inches. You get carried away in a dream before you realize that your glass is empty and you need another one! Cheers!

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, flaked oats, hops (Simcoe, Amarillo and Centennial) and yeast.

10.5% ABV / Net content 330 ml

Brewed at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.

MOLOTOV COCKTAIL

Did you like this one before, during and after Christmas?, maybe you thought it poured brilliantly, the alcohol was admirable well hidden and you loved how the arrogant amounts of hops numbed your mouth. This beer will knock your tongue off – it’s a tour de force in hoppiness and by far one the craziest beer ever made by Evil Twin Brewing.

Brixton Porter – Brewdog

The bastard lovechild of the industrial revolution; an 18th Century London original. Updated.

Immerse yourself in initial chocolate and coffee hit as the encapsulating roastiness takes hold. This renaissance beer is oak aged for complexity which adds rich vanilla into the mix before the dark fruits drill your senses into an orgy of untold pleasures.Brixton Porter is a dark liquid voyage of discovery. A seafaring dog with beguiling tales to tell. Surrender to the dark side.

Jackhammer – Brewdog

Press the button, go ahead. What are you waiting for? Your mama’s not coming this time. Don’t slow down. Hammer it.

Start with huge grapefruit aroma. Pile on more bitterness than the human palate (or nipple) can detect, ride the anarchy and caramel craziness and let the devastatingly bitter finish drill straight through your taste buds.

Put a bullet in the head of mediocrity, raise hell and revel in bitter craft awesomeness. This beer is the end of the line. The hopped-up, puckered mouthed extreme of craft brewing. This beer is bitter. Very bitter. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

ABV:7.2%

Malts:Extra Pale Spring Blend

Hops: Centennial and Columbus, Dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo and Simco

Trashy Blonde

“You know you shouldn’t.”
A titillating, neurotic, peroxide, punk of a pale ale. Combining attitude, style substance and a little bit of low self esteem for good measure; what would your mother say?
The seductive lure of the sassy passion fruit hop proves too much to resist. All that is even before we get onto the fact that there are no additives preservatives, pasteurization or strings attached. All wrapped up with the customary Brewdog bite and imaginative twist.

ABV:4.1%

Ingredients: Maris Otter, Caramalt and Munich Malt; Motoeka (Belgian Saaz) and Amarillo hops.

Its what drinking good beer is all about. Before we never talked about the complexities of flavour in Budweiser because there is none. Now our customers taste, sniff, swap and talk about beers like dirty secrets that have to be shared. Enjoy the Revolution at Revolution, and of Course Oskars
