Celtic Cask 63, 18 Year Old Sauternes Cask

Distilled in 2007, this exceptional double-distilled Irish single malt has enjoyed a remarkable maturation journey spanning eighteen years. Initially laid down in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, it developed a rich foundation of vanilla, honey, and orchard fruit before being transferred to ex-Fino sherry butts in 2015, adding layers of dried fruit, nuttiness, and elegant complexity.

In 2021, one of these carefully selected sherry butts was divided between two rare wine casks. One portion became Celtic Cask 59 in an ex-Tokaji cask, while the other was filled into a superb ex-Sauternes cask imported directly from the renowned Château Suduiraut in Bordeaux. The sweet wine influence has brought a luxurious depth to the whiskey, enhancing its natural fruit character with notes of apricot, peach, honeycomb, candied citrus, and golden raisins.

Bottled from a single cask, Celtic Cask 63 showcases the unique interaction between Irish single malt and one of the world's most celebrated dessert wines. Rich, complex, and beautifully balanced, it is a whiskey that rewards patience and contemplation with every sip.
